  • Diablo Burger

    312 E. Congress St. Downtown / 4th Ave / University

    882-2007

Diablo Burger is local through and through. The owners of the original Diablo Burger in Flagstaff, AZ have opened up a second location in our ever-expanding downtown. The burgers are deliciously dense and juicy, as long as you abide by the strongly suggested house rules and order them medium rare. The ingredients are all locally sourced and tend toward the sustainable model, which makes the burger even more delicious. However, it all pales in comparison to the crispy perfection of the heavenly French fries.(8-8-13)

  • Mutts Premium Hot Dogs & Sausages

    806 E. University Blvd. Downtown / 4th Ave / University

    529-7277

Mutts' menu features the usual staples (Chicago dogs, Polish sausages, chili dogs, Sonoran-style hot dogs) alongside dogs topped more esoterically, with items including Buffalo sauce, strawberry jam and Tzatziki. Mutts uses Usinger's Sausage from Wisconsin. We didn't find a bad dog in the bunch. Mutts also has an all-day breakfast menu, along with sandwiches, soups and salads. (1-2-14)

    299-7799

Also at 6390 E. Grant Road (298-2020). Is Tucson ready for an upscale burger joint? The existence of Zinburger provides the answer to that question: a resounding yes! The burgers are perfectly prepared, and the sides are satisfying, provided you like stuff that’s been fried. After you enjoy the Kobe burger, the truffle fries and the date-and-honey shake, you won’t be able to look at burgers, fries and shakes in the same way ever again. (5-15-08)
