  • 5 Points Market & Restaurant

    756 S. Stone Ave. Central

    623-3888

This quaint, quiet place south of downtown provides a spot for neighbors to grab a few groceries as well as a tasty bite to eat. Serving brunch dishes, sandwiches, soups and salads, all from locally sourced ingredients, the owners are bringing sustainability to a neighborhood that is in the throes of gentrification. The food is tasty and the service is friendly, but it can get busy and they don’t take reservations. Be prepared for a wait if you’re with a large group or it’s a weekend morning. (5-8-14)

  • Rincon Market

    2513 E. Sixth St. Central

    327-6653

This long time neighborhood market is the ideal place for a quick nosh or a leisurely lunch. Hot food include juicy burgers and hot dogs; a deli has freshly made sandwiches; weekend breakfasts include a waffle bar and eggs benedict (Sundays only) and there is a salad bar that is beyond belief. Good for family or friends of all ages, this is a Tucson tradition. You may even see some local celebrities as the U of A coaching staffs love this place. They even gave testimonials on the website and Coaches Miller and Rodriquez have sandwiches named after them. You can also find plenty of quality grocery options on the market side. Take home a roast chicken or two for dinner. (10-23-14)

  • Time Market

    444 E. University Blvd. Downtown / 4th Ave / University

    622-0761

Time Market is four things in one. It’s a top-notch deli; it’s a popular woodfire pizza joint; it’s a coffee bar; it’s a quirky market full of hard-to-find foods. With a friendly staff and reasonable prices, Time Market is a longtime Tucson favorite. We recommend the green gringo sandwich, mixing a green corn tamale with shredded chicken, cheddar, salsa and green olives on sourdough. Yum! (7-14-05)
